FAQ

How do I Qualify?

Most homeowners qualify as long as they meet three simple requirements:

1. You own the home: Solar programs require the applicant to be the legal homeowner.

2. Meet Basic Home Requirements: Minimal shading, A roof in good condition, and Electrical system up to code.

3. Utility Approval: Your current utility must approve interconnection to the grid.

What’s the catch?

There’s no hidden catch. With $0-down solar, you simply replace your utility payment with a lower, fixed solar payment. Instead of renting electricity from the utility at rates that increase every year, you generate your own clean power at a more predictable and affordable cost.

Here’s why it works:

  • No upfront payment: Installation, equipment, permitting, and warranties are covered by the solar provider.
  • Lower monthly costs: Your solar payment is designed to be cheaper than what you currently spend on electricity.
  • Guaranteed power: You still stay connected to the grid, but most of your energy now comes from your solar system.
  • Backed by incentives: Federal and state programs make $0-down options possible for qualified homeowners.

In short: You’re not adding a new bill — you’re lowering the one you already have.

What is the timeline for a solar project?

The entire solar process typically takes 6–10 weeks from start to finish. Here’s what it looks like:

1. Consultation & Design (1–3 days)

We review your electric bill, design your custom system, and show you the savings. Once approved, we create your final proposal.

2. Site Survey (3–7 days)

A technician visits your home to measure the roof, check electrical panels, and confirm all details needed for permits.

3. Permitting (1–3 weeks)

We handle all city, utility, and state paperwork. This step varies depending on your local permitting office.

4. Installation (1–2 days)

Our certified crew installs your solar panels, inverter, and wiring. Most homes are completed in a single day.

5. Inspection (3–10 days)

Your city/town performs a final inspection to ensure the system meets all safety and building standards.

6. Utility Approval (1–3 weeks)

Your utility reviews the project and gives Permission to Operate (PTO).

Once approved—you’re ready to turn on your system.

7. Solar Activation (Same day as PTO)

We walk you through turning on the system and using your monitoring app to track your production and savings.

Total Timeline: 6–10 weeks depending on permitting and utility processing times.
